OliverQ's JournalCountries that allow retirees to move there
Any expats here or anyone know of how tough it is to retire to another country?
Basically all I'm getting so far is unless you're worth several million dollars, your only options to move are to places like Costa Rica, Panama, Belize, etc. but I don't feel comfortable with the crime levels and instability in Central America.
Are there any other options in stable, free countries with a large English-speaking population?
The other frustrating logistical issue we have is we have quite a few pets (lots of cats and a dog) which makes transporting them a challenge.
I get countries can't just let everyone in, I just wish it was easier to change to another country.
Inside the White House's Quiet Campaign to Create a Supreme Court Opening

Say hello to your boy, Mr. Trump said. Special guy.
Mr. Trump was apparently referring to Justice Kennedys son, Justin. The younger Mr. Kennedy spent more than a decade at Deutsche Bank, eventually rising to become the banks global head of real estate capital markets, and he worked closely with Mr. Trump when he was a real estate developer, according to two people with knowledge of his role.
During Mr. Kennedys tenure, Deutsche Bank became Mr. Trumps most important lender, dispensing well over $1 billion in loans to him for the renovation and construction of skyscrapers in New York and Chicago at a time other mainstream banks were wary of doing business with him because of his troubled business history.

This is insane. It's looking more likely that Trump literally bribed Kennedy to retire based on his son being Trump's personal banker at Deustche Bank just so he could stack the Court with someone who would allow him to pardon himself.
How do we survive this endless assault on Democracy and the Rule of Law?
Rachel tonight.
Interesting. Rachel just said Manafort hired a new defense attorney. And Mueller's team hired a prosecutor who specializes in Espionage.
I don't think we've seen Espionage brought up by the Mueller team yet. That sounds big.
One of my cats just had to be put down.
This week has been the worst ever. Yesterday was my birthday and it was horrible. My anxiety and depression is off the charts over this country, and now my cat dies.
Just can't catch a break.
Today is my Birthday and I want to cry.
Kennedy retiring, Trump and McConnell will get another far-right fascist on the Supreme Court. America is dead. I'm absolutely terrified.
Life just keeps getting worse. I would move to another country tomorrow if I could, but I have no way to go anywhere else.

Sigh. CNN just had Trump's approval now up to 45%.
Half this country sucks! The poll was from the 11th to the 17th so probably didn't quite factor in all the major backlash from the babyjails and concentration camps.
But still, the most depressing part of this catastrophe to me is just how many Americans support this Nazi.
Just a reminder: The Border is partly an intended distraction
The Border situation is horrible. It's a crime against humanity and Trump, Nielsen, Miller, etc. belong on trial in the Hague.
But also remember it's a distraction while Republicans do even more evil things behind the scenes. The House just voted on another bill to repeal the ACA and cut $2 trillion from Medicare and Medicaid.
It hasn't gotten any attention due to the Border coverage.
Rep. Sheila Jackson said Repukes are going to fire Rosenstein Friday
If this is true, we're in deep trouble.
IG investigating Strzok and how Russia probe got started.
Get ready. I see a lot of parts moving to shut the investigation down soon. Trump's 2020 campaign manager is calling for Sessions to be fired and end the Mueller probe. The IG is investigating whether the Russia probe was illegally started. House members are ramping up their efforts to impeach Rosenstein.
We're in deep deep trouble here.
The Trump supporter defense on Nazi-style concentration camps...
"If they didn't want their children taken from them, they shouldn't have illegally crossed the border."
Literally the only defense I've seen repeated over and over and over on social media, twitter, forums, etc. That's all they have. I remind them Asylum seeking is perfectly legal, and even if they crossed the border illegally, it's a misdemeanor. Destroying the lives of children over a misdemeanor is evil.
But I'm so sick of them citing "illegal border crossing" as their only justification for this crap. They have absolutely no other argument.
