Netflix: The Battling Bastards of Baseball

Really an interesting, entertaining documentary on Bing Russell and the Portland Mavericks, an OR baseball team he started in 1974. They were, at that time, the last truly independent baseball team playing in the US...all other minor league teams were farm teams for the ML clubs.

Bing was an actor and Kurt Russell's father. He played a sheriff on Bonanza, as well as many Westerns made in the 40s/50s. Lots of footage on this team and that era of minor league baseball. He took a collection of characters and ML has beens (Jim Bouton) and became a powerhouse team in the pacific Coast League.

Well worth the watch!

Was this recall election the Republican plan to Benghazi a Democrat they think is a

2024 Presidential candidate?

I'd be happy with a Harris/Newsome candidacy, but I think that's a real problem, Constitution wise.

Cosmic Charlie

So Google Music threw this at me, well into a small bottle of Cabbie Sav. I said (actually thought because I am by myself), "cool, Dead Europe '72 _ the entire tour is getting released online and there is some damn fine music - played and recorded -" ....... and it just seemed to fit. Then 2/3's into the song, I thought-said....wait, Dead, but not. Come to find out it was Phil Lesh and Friends (2006). They unlock the best version of this song and it's because Phil has Base lead. Continuity of musical ownership.......

Lobbying....

I am OK with making your case. But is astroturfing a valid part of lobbying? Nope.

G. Dead - Skull and Roses - Live 1971

1st, thank Ken Owsley for producing this audio....in 1971. Sonically, brilliant.

NFA?GDTRFB is a great example. The sheer energy of the Band turned my head.....
