How much more shit are you going to let this so-called "administration" get away with? How can you sleep at night? How much more empty bullshit do you expect us to put up with?

I hope that when future historians write about this period
they don't just discuss that thing in the Oval Office. I hope they also write about all the assholes in Congress and elsewhere that have made this one of the darkest periods in US history.
I hope they mention them by name: McConnell, Ryan, Graham, right down the line. And I hope they include the assholes who helped feed it: Hannity, Carlson, and others.
I hope they all get their immortality of infamy.
Dems vs Reps: a replay of the Americans vs the British?
Somewhere back in history class, we were told that the main reason the Americans won the Revolution was their style of fighting. The British fought the battles the old European way, with ranks of soldiers lined up firing at each other. The Americans, however were fighting guerrila-style. The Americans won.
This is what I'm seeing in Congress: the Dems are being prim and proper and the Reps are kicking their asses. Might be time to go back to the history books.
Help with fact-finding, please: Obama and funerals
I know most of us are pissed off, but I'm really just looking for a bit of help with fact-finding here. Please no opinions or spitballs; we get enough of that already.
An old friend who's a Republican sent me another of his forwarded emails busting on Democrats. Generally I either look up the subject and send him links to disprove his email or ignore them, depending on how I feel. But two days ago he sent me one I really want to tear apart if possible, so I'm looking for some help.
Here are the points made in the mail:
1. Major General Harold Greene's body was returned to the US in 2014. Obama was golfing at the time, so he didn't attend the ceremony. Neither did the VP or the Secretary of Defense, and flags were not lowered to half-staff.
2. Four days later, Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, Missouri, after robbing a convenience store and seriously injuring a police officer. Obama sent a three-person delegation to Brown's funeral.
3. When Margaret Thatcher died, Obama sent only a small low-level delegation to her funeral.
4. When Chris Kyle was killed, there was no expression of sympathy from the White House. Yet when Whitney Houston died of a drug overdose, Obama/Biden ordered flags to half-staff.
If this information is incorrect, I would like to send my friend links to the correct information. I'm looking online, but thought some of you might be able to help.
For extra points, I'd love to know how many military funerals T has attended.

Do people in this country have a gun fetish?
A couple of days ago I received a video clip about gun control from an old friend who happens to be a Republican. The argument was that mass shootings are a problem that goes beyond gun control. As I was responding to my friend just now, a thought hit me: do (some) people in this country just have a gun fetish?
I accept that some people like to hunt (I accept it, but I don't understand it) and that therefore they need rifles or shotguns. Okay.
I can understand that some people like target shooting, either as a competitive sport or as a hobby. Okay there too.
I can understand that some like to collect antique or unusual guns. Fine there also.
And I can understand that some feel that they need a gun or two for self-protection due to where they live. No problem there.
But what I don't get is the need for arsenals at home: multiple guns and a hoard of ammo, plus all the "tactical" gear and the "take it over my dead body" tattoos and T-shirts. Or open carry.
Is it just a fetish?
Moscow Mitch on de-funding schools in KY to build wall
From CNN today:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would defend funding for a new middle school in his home state of Kentucky after it was selected as one of the military projects the Trump administration will delay in order to fund border wall construction.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper announced on Tuesday the list of projects impacted by the funding move, which would shift a little less than $1.8 billion from projects in 23 states and three US territories. The middle school was slated to receive $62.6 million in February 2020.
"Senator McConnell recently talked to Secretary Esper regarding the issue and is committed to protecting funding for the Ft. Campbell Middle School project," a spokesman for McConnell said in a statement.
This could be interesting for Moscow Mitch McTurtle considering the upcoming elections.
If he "promises" to protect the funding and doesn't deliver, a lot of people in KY will be pissed off at him.
If he doesn't do anything, a lot of people in KY will be pissed off at him.
If he does something to protect the funding, T will be pissed off at him.
It would appear Mr. McTurtle might be in a tough spot right now.

McConnell needs to feel some pressure
Some people may feel the need to argue this, but McConnell has been pretty much putting the kabosh on anything the Democrats want to do for some time now, and yet somehow he's managed to stay under the radar except for the recent spate of "Moscow Mitch" tweets. Granted he doesn't inject himself into the spotlight as much as T does, which is probably why the MSM doesn't cover him as much, but he's certainly kept a low profile.
AFAIC, he has totally ignored and flaunted and shit on his oath of office and on the Constitution he swore to protect. "Why" is a separate question and not the subject of this post. He may afraid of something or someone, or afraid of blackmail, or hanging on to try to lose face, or any other reason, but I won't go there. I don't want to go there.
In any case, it was obvious a couple of weeks ago that he didn't like the "Moscow Mitch" label and that he was upset about it, and that it seemed to make him nervous. Apparently he would rather pull the strings from backstage and not be seen for who he is. So I think we need to ramp up the public pressure on him.
I've chosen to not be on social media, but many of you have chosen to be on it. I think the time is ripe to start bringing him up on there and put him on the radar instead of letting him stay under it. For all I know, like many other politicians, he may have some skeletons in his closet that should be exposed, and especially given the upcoming elections.
T gets all the blame for a lot of stuff, but, if it weren't for McConnell, he wouldn't be getting away with it.

From HufPost re: a piece in the Washington Post:
"The paper, citing two people familiar with the report’s finding, said Epstein sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones, including his hyoid bone — a horseshoe-shaped bone which in men is located near the Adam’s apple."
Okay, this is weird. Aside from the hyoid, the only bones in the neck are the cervical vertebrae, which are at the back of the neck. The word "including" indicates that other bones were broken, which would have to refer to the cervical vertebrae because there are no other bones in there. I couldn't access the WaPo article, but it seems to me that this wording could be deliberately misleading. By who, I don't have a clue.
The hyoid could be broken due to strangulation or just from the weight of the body onto the noose, but it's a floating bone, so conceivably it could have moved out of the way as he asphyxiated. However, the pressure on the neck from the noose could have also blocked blood circulation to the brain, which can be fatal within a few minutes.
We need more information on that autopsy.
