I gotta figure.... everybody knows Trump won. The election was fixed. AND

2024 is also gonna be fixed.

SOoooo.

If you're a Republican who doesn't need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing, why not just stay home on Election Day?

Turn on the NASCAR channel or outdoor hunting channel and break out the Jack. Why waste your time voting?

When a smile hides pain.

I was watching the Netflix doc. on Warren Jeffs. One of the victims was recounting the experience she had at the hands of Jeff and his followers. She was a minor, abused at the hands of Jeffs and his cult leaders. Her story was hard to listen to and hard for her to tell, even 20 years or so, after it happened. During the telling, she wore a smile on her face. Trying to put myself in her place, I imagine that it was either smile or cry. It was a way to separate herself from the pain of the memory of her experience.

Then I remembered the first time I saw a smile like that. It was maybe 45 years ago and it was the face of a woman, maybe in her mid 50's. She worked in a local business and as I frequented the business, conversation went beyond the usual, "Thank you," or "Have a nice day."

She spoke with an accent. I am not good at identifying the origin of people's accent. I don't recall how the conversation drifted but she said she was from Germany. I recalled a WWII immigrant from Germany who came to our school around 1950. She was placed in my third grade class. The child had relatives in our town who sponsored her to move to America. I talked about her.

I asked the employee when she had come to the U.S. She said she came after the war. She lost her parents in the fires at Dresden. Then that same smile came to her face as she talked about seeing the flames from the firebombing as fire came closer and closer to her. She was 10 years old.... she didn't know where to run to where to hide.

I've thought about her a couple of times since that day and each time, it brings me great sadness.

I don't recall what I said to her in response to her telling me her story. Whatever I said, it wasn't enough. I wish she was here now, so I could give her a hug.

There's some lawyer who knows where the Kraken is.

If I was Navarro, that's the lawyer I'd be looking to hire.

To me, it all boils down to a quote I read a couple of years ago, on D.U.

Thus spoke the asshole: "My 2nd Amendment trumps your dead kid."

That is what we are up against.

My second date with Rona didn't go as well as the first one: Follow-up.

I have 2 vaccine shots and 2 boosters. The first booster was in September. I got Covid in December...no symptoms but tested positive.

Second booster was in March. I got Covid probably May 13th. I was on a SEPTA train to Philadelphia. There were 10 of us in an empty car. We sat away from each other. Still, I tested positive and with some symptoms this time. I thought I would b ok because I had two boosters. Five of us have tested positive. All of us are double boosted.

So, my suggestions... Resume outdoor dining in restaurants or do takeout. Avoid large indoor gatherings... parties, church, meetings, concerts, remote work if possible and whatever I didn't think of. We need to go back to what our behavior was last year.

Update: Symptoms are down to just a cough. But last night, I again, tested positive.

A new wave is spreading and we can expect new variations to pop up.

Be Careful.

And go back to wearing a mask.

My second date with Rona.

It didn't go as well as the first.

I have two vaccines and two boosters. The first booster was in December. I tested positive for Covid on Dec. 29th. ...no symptoms but tested positive.

Second booster was in March. I got covid again, probably this weekend. Tested positive with symptoms. I thought I would be ok because I had two boosters. I wasn't.

I probably got the virus on a SEPTA train ride to Philadelphia. The thing is, the train car, in and out, was mostly empty except for the 10 of us in our group. We sat away from each other on the train and we did not go into any enclosed spaces. Five of us tested positive.

So... my suggestions. Resume outdoor dining in restaurants or do takeout. Avoid large indoor gatherings.... parties, meetings, church, concerts and whatever I didn't think of. Work remote if you can.

My symptoms are not severe, slight headache from time to time, muscle aches, coughing. .... Yes I got the "Pax" anti-viral medication. It is helping.

But still. A new wave is spreading and we can expect new variations of pop up.

Be careful.

One thing to get clear about the BIG money funding anti-abortion: for the wealthy,

it ain't about abortion. Abortion is an issue to get the rubes to elect Republicans. Do you really think that the likes of Charles Koch cares one shit about abortion?

The goal is to keep the attention on abortion while their legislators and S.C. rule against tax reform, Anti-O.S.H.A. anti environmental laws and so forth.

Recall when about 30 years ago, O.S.H.A. issued mega fines against Koch industries? One of the first things the present S.C. ruled, was against O.S.H.A. enforcing Covid protection.

Question about the Constitution. Dems want to codify abortion and maybe other things

like contraception, gay marriage and so forth.

The S.C. can rule on if a law of Congress is allowed within the framework of the Constitution.

So....

If abortion was codified, why wouldn't that codification be declared unconstitutional?

For lower gas prices-would you do it?

An answer would be, "Stay At Home Sunday. One day where everyone keeps their car in the garage or on the driveway. One Sunday a month.

The problem is, not enough supply for the demand. So, lower the demand.

Would yo do it?
