The rule, proposed in August and approved by Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. in September, is intended to enforce a 2021 state law that forbids instruction on gender identity and sexuality for children in kindergarten through third grade. The measure, the Parental Rights in Education Act, is known by opponents as the dont say gay law.
The Florida Department of Education has done little to publicize its rule on teachers licenses. The rule appeared online around the same time that the state was taking damage from Hurricane Ian, which has left more than 100 dead. News of the rule was first reported Tuesday by the newsletter the Progress Report.
The rule states that any teacher who intentionally provide[s] classroom instruction to K-3 students on those two topics will face revocation or suspension of the individual educators certificate, or the other penalties as provided by law.
Florida will strip teaching licenses from teachers who mention gender identity or sexuality in k-3

Residents of Mirabella - a dorm complex for people ages 62 and up - filed a lawsuit with the Maricopa County Superior Court last spring over the 'unnecessary and excessive noise' coming from students at the Shady Park bar.
-------
The dorm serves as a full-service retirement center, and the seven-figure upfront payment is not used to buy units, but serves as a deposit for the medical care residents receive for as long as they live at Mirabella.
Residents also pay about $5,000 per month to cover food, cleaning, and other building amenities.
--
Once the pandemic lifted however - and the thrum of Shady Park's EDM concerts returned to service the hard-partying ASU student body - Mirabella residents used to peace and quiet started to complain.
'That unrelenting bass thumping sound makes it difficult to concentrate or do anything else,' resident Sharon Murry said in the court filing against Shady Park.
Another resident, Gail Fisher said she knew there was live music across the street, but never considered the true scope of it.
'Live music can mean a trio,' she explained her deposition, 'It doesn't mean boom-boom-boom all night.

A Calif. restaurant hosted Mike Lindell. It didn't go over well.
Tres Chiles Picosos, a Mexican restaurant in Humboldt County, became the subject of intense social media backlash last week after it posted a photo celebrating a visit from Mike Lindell, the so-called MyPillow Guy who rose to notoriety a few years ago for his conspiratorial views on COVID-19 and the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The restaurants owner, Michelle Hill, told SFGATE that two employees a waitress and a bartender recognized Lindell because they buy his MyPillow products, and were unfamiliar with his role in national politics. Hill said she allowed a manager to post the photo on the restaurant's Facebook page because her staff was excited that a quasi-celebrity like Lindell had visited; it was not intended to be a political statement, she said.
"I don't get into politics," she said. "We knew nothing about him apart from that he's the MyPillow guy ... my staff buys his pillows, his sheets, his socks, they were just excited to see someone famous."
But some social media users thought that Tres Chiles Picosos associating with Lindell goes beyond normal partisan politics.
It's not about the politics, it's about the crimes and sedition, one Facebook user wrote. You don't post photos with other tourists, why start with him.

The still vile but irrelevent Ann Coulter
Came across Ann Coulter on LA talk radio yesterday. Still calling liberals "communists" in that dry sarcastic voice. A buddy of her gives her a few minutes of air time weekly.
Her platform has greatly faded. Just a 10s or hundreds of hits on her tweets. Gop doesnt seem to embrace her..i think 1. She criticized trump and still does
2. She went too stridently hateful for gop leaders..she said some very hateful stuff in the past
She has jumped on the anti trans bandwagon

Since the entire city seems to be dissecting the secret Los Angeles City Hall recordings for expressions of hatred against nearly every demographic group, allow me to chime in.
About Armenians.
Among the many casual slurs made by several of our citys high-profile Democratic Latino officials in a secretly recorded conversation about redistricting were a few mild ones directed at a former City Hall staffer and my fellow Armenian American, Areen Ibranossian.
A veteran of Los Angeles politics and local campaigns, Ibranossian worked as Councilman Paul Krekorians chief of staff before leaving to become a political consultant in 2018.
In the recordings, he is described as the guy with the one eyebrow, by Nury Martinez, who stepped down from her post as City Council president on Monday after The Times broke the story Sunday. Someone then speculates about his last name. It ends in i-a-n, betcha, says Councilman Kevin de León.
Being dismissive of someones facial features is crass and immature. And guessing that an Armenian Americans name ends in i-a-n is the intellectual equivalent of calling water wet. No duh.
Certainly, this coarseness is not in the same league as Martinez describing City Councilman Mike Bonin, who is gay, as a little bitch, describing his son, who is Black, as a monkey or calling brown-skinned Oaxacans who have settled in Koreatown ugly.
But it underscores the depressing clannishness of these Latino officials, and their apparent belief that everybody who is not like them is fair game to be trampled in the quest for political muscle.
No one was spared in that racist conversation among top L.A. Latino officials - Armenians
