Attorney Lin Wood announced on Friday that podcaster Doug Kuzma, a supporter of former President Donald Trump known for his anti-vaccine stance, is in the hospital due to COVID after attending a QAnon-friendly conference in Texas earlier this month.
Wood wrote in a Telegram post that he received a call for help from Kuzma's administrator, who said the Frog News Network host had been suffering from the disease and his lungs were not responding to treatment.
According to Telegram posts by Frog News Network on Saturday, Kuzma was placed on a ventilator early Christmas morning and was unconscious and unable to answer calls or messages.
Frog News Network noted that the last contact with Kuzma was on December 19, when he shared a photo of ivermectin he had stockpiled before heading to the Texas event.
Kuzma attended the QAnon-friendly "ReAwaken America" event in Dallas from December 9 to 11. The event drew speakers and attendees known for promoting vaccine conspiracies and claims of 2020 presidential election fraud.
'Outrageous' pension double-dipping triggers criminal investigation into California cops
The alleged fraud detailed by CalPERS includes two chiefs working in the Broadmoor police district after receiving disability payouts, covering-up full-time work in order to collect retirement benefits and in one of the chief's cases, returning to active duty, then becoming an annuitant again, to enhance benefits.
CalPERS said one pensioner, identified as former Police Chief David Parenti, increased his yearly pension retirement by nearly $60,000 a year, going from $93,000 a year to $152,292 a year by coming out of retirement, working for 13 months and then retiring again.
But the pension plan said Parenti was never actually retired. He continued to draw more than $6,000 in salary per two week-pay period in addition to the pension benefits.
He also received a $100,000 disability benefit for unspecified injuries and another approximate $100,000 payment that couldn't be explained.
Parenti and the three other former Broadmoor police officials can be forced to pay back retirement benefits they collected while working. They could also face criminal charges.
The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office opened a criminal investigation into the former chiefs after CalPERS released its audit, District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe said. It focuses on Parenti and a second former chief, Greg Love.

One of Biden's very first acts as president was to rejoin the Paris climate accord which former President Donald Trump had left.
2. Judicial Appointments
While former President Trump's high-profile appointees to the U.S. Supreme Court are still making headlines, Biden has been quietly making a series of appointments to the federal courts.
3. The AUKUS Submarine Deal
Though it caused significant anger in the French government, the AUKUS submarine deal between the U.S, U.K. and Australia can be viewed as a strategic success in efforts to confront China in the Pacific Ocean.

75 Percent of Unvaxxed Trump Voters and 51% of unvaxxed Biden voters vow to never get vaccinated
A poll released this week by The Economist/YouGov suggests that Trump's apparent efforts to change the minds of his unvaccinated followers could be a tall order, given that 75 percent of those who remain unvaccinated and voted for him in 2020 said that they did "not plan on ever getting ANY shots of ANY COVID-19 vaccine." Another 12 percent said that they "might" get a shot in the future, while only 3 percent said they would "definitely" get vaccinated and 10 percent preferred to not answer.
Vaccine hesitancy was also high among unvaccinated voters who picked President Joe Biden last year, with a slight 51 percent majority of Biden voters promising to never get vaccinated. However, a larger share of vaccine hesitant Biden voters did appear willing to consider getting vaccinated35 said they might get the shot later, 6 percent responded that they definitely would and 8 percent preferred not to answer.

feel good story for Christmas: UPS temp employee is rewarded with full time job after nice gesture
Doorbell cams sometimes catch delivery drivers at their worst. In this case, it's the opposite. WRBL explains: A 24-year-old UPS driver named Dallen Harrell dropped off a package at a home in Roswell, Georgia, and paused to speak into the doorbell cam because he'd recalled seeing a celebratory stork lawn sign.
If this is the Its a Boy house I hope all is going well with your newborn, he said, per the Washington Post. I had a child at around the same time you guys did, and I just hope everything is going good. God bless and happy holidays. You can watch the moment here. As it turns out, the gesture had unintended consequences, all of them good.
Homeowner Jessica Kitchel, mother of a newborn son, was moved by the message and posted it on social media. The moment that he said that was a time I needed to hear that encouragement at the most important time," she says. "I was blown away." The feel-good story spread quickly, catching the attention of UPS, which helped arrange a phone call between the two.
Kitchel and her husband also left baby gifts for Harrell, and she posted his baby registry accounts online. He and his fiancee have since been deluged with giftsand UPS offered him a full-time job. (He was originally hired only for the holiday rush.) I cant believe it all unfolded this way, he says. When I left the comment at the doorbell, I didnt even expect to hear from them, and so many blessings have followed behind.

Candace Owens says Trump believes in vaccines because he 'only reads mainstream news' & he is older
Candace Owens says Trump believes in vaccines because he only reads mainstream news and is not on the internet
-------
In a Friday livestream, Owens claimed that Trumps embrace of the Covid-19 vaccines is the result of his reliance on mainstream news sources, which she said had left him unfamiliar with unsubstantiated theories that question the vaccines from more obscure websites.
I've seen other people that are older have the exact same perspective. Like they came from a time before TV, before internet, before being able to conduct their independent research
and everything that they read in a newspaper that was pitched to them
they believed that that was a reality, she said.

In a surprising move from the former president, Donald Trump is advocating for vaccines. In an interview with conservative personality Candace Owens, he challenged some of Owens' statements that none of the three COVID-19 vaccines work. The Hill reports the controversial ex-leader unabashedly took credit for the creation of the vaccines and the "incredible speed" at which they were offered to the public amid the pandemic's chaos.
