Trump supporting CEO says life is "ruined" after caught on tape calling UBER driver N word

The white former CEO of organic fertilizer company Agroplasma USA, based in Tempe, Arizona, has been fired after being caught on camera racially abusing a black Uber driver.

The altercation started when Uber driver Randy Clarke told the former CEO, Hans Berglund, that he had a policy of passengers not sitting in the front seat of his car unless there are three passengers or more. That’s when Berglund, originally from Sweden, insisted he sit in the front. According to ABC15.com, Berglund then said, “Are you f***ing serious with me? Is it because I’m White? And you’re a f****ing N******? You are a f***ing idiot.”

Clarke, 25, said “I was in a state of shock, I almost wanted to laugh. Some people need to be educated about people who don’t look like them. But in this case, the fact that he blatantly said the N-word, I just couldn’t let that go,” Clarke told 12 News.

Pennsylvania judge is suspended after 'repeatedly calling a black female juror 'Aunt Jemima'

A Pennsylvania judge accused of making racist comments about a juror was barred from hearing any cases, according to a court order issued Thursday.

Judge Mark Tranquilli was suspended after being accused of referring to a black female juror as 'Aunt Jemima' repeatedly in comments he made in his chambers following the acquittal of a drug suspect on Jan. 24.

Tranquilli was temporarily reassigned to summary appeals on Tuesday following an interview of the judge by court administration staff. He will be forbidden from hearing any case and will be restricted to 'administrative duties only, effective immediately.'

'Judge Tranquilli shall not preside over any cases during this assigment,' a court order states.

The judge allegedly made the comments in his chambers in the presence of the prosecutor, Ted Dutkowski, and the defense attorney, Joe Otte.

He is said to have been upset that a suspect was found not guilty, adding that Dutkowski should have done a better job at vetting jurors.

Tranquilli did not responded to requests for comment this week.

Aunt Jemima has racist origins as it comes from a vaudeville era song 'Old Aunt Jemima.' The character was based off the mammie - a black woman who worked for white families, nursing their children. It is now commonly associated with syrup and pancake mix.

Lori McMaster, president of the Allegheny County Bar Association, released a statement saying that an investigation would be launched into Tranquilli's comments.

They also questioned if Tranquilli had a longer history with racist tendencies.

'We understand too that Judge Tranquilli had earned a reputation for being 'tough on crime and defendants,'" they said. 'We can't help but wonder if his "toughness" was in actuality a series of racially based rulings, which may have led to some African Americans being sentenced inappropriately and unfairly, and possibly negatively affecting their lives, maybe in some cases for a number of years!'

This orangutan saw a man wading in snake-infested water and decided to offer a helping hand

Prabhakar was on a safari with friends at a conservation forest run by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS) when he witnessed the scene.

He told CNN: "There was a report of snakes in that area so the warden came over and he's clearing snakes.

"I saw an orangutan come very close to him and just offer him his hand."

Prabhakar said it was difficult for the guard to move in the muddy, flowing water. It seemed as if the orangutan was saying "May I help you"? to the man, he said.

"I really wasn't able to click," he said. "I never expected something like that.

"I just grabbed that moment. It was really emotional."

Venomous snakes are predators of Borneo's orangutans, which are under threat from forest fires, habitat loss and hunting.
"You could say snakes are their biggest enemy," said Prabhakar, a geologist from Kerala in India.
The guard then moved away from the ape and climbed out of the water. When Prabhakar asked why he moved away, "He said, 'they're completely wild, we don't know how they'll react.'"
Prabhakar said the entire encounter lasted just three or four minutes. "I'm so happy that moment happened to me," he said.

Treasury Department Hands Over Hunter Biden Info After Withholding Trump's Tax Records

WASHINGTON ― The Treasury Department has given congressional Republicans sensitive financial information related to Hunter Biden after having refused to give Democrats President Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Yahoo News first reported Thursday that the Treasury Department handed over highly confidential information in response to a November request from Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) for suspicious activity reports filed with the department by financial institutions.

Last year, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin blocked a Democratic request for the president’s tax filings, saying Democrats had no legitimate legislative purpose for seeking the documents.

“The legal implications of this request could affect protections for all Americans against politically-motivated disclosures of personal tax information, regardless of which party is in power,” Mnuchin said in an April 2019 letter.

Apparently, that same standard did not apply when it came to non-tax financial information that may pertain to the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, a Trump political rival.
