Sperm donor fathered 15 kids without telling moms he has genetic IQ disease

A Facebook sperm donor fathered 15 children but never told the mothers he has an inheritable condition that causes learning disabilities.

James MacDougall, 37, fathered children with lesbian women through private donations advertised on social media despite knowing he had incurable Fragile X syndrome, a genetic disorder that leads to low IQ and developmental delay.

MacDougall’s identity came out in a family court battle in Derby, United Kingdom, after he applied for parental responsibility and child arrangement orders for four of his children — even though he originally signed an agreement saying he didn’t want contact with some of his children.

The mothers of the children were opposed to the applications.

Sabrina's Parents Love Her. But the Meltdowns Are Too Much - parents experience w large autistic kid

long sad story that ends on an upbeat note.

Sabrina’s Parents Love Her. But the Meltdowns Are Too Much.
Unpredictable violence, chaotic outbursts and countless trips to the emergency room. What happens when an autistic teenager becomes unmanageable at home?

The other children were heading home after school. But not Sabrina Benedict. A progression of mishaps had sent her into a tailspin. Earlier in gym class, a much smaller boy had sprinted toward her, scaring her. Then a teaching assistant had deviated slightly from their usual goodbye routine.

Now mid-meltdown, she lay prone on the sidewalk outside her school, her legs dangling in the street. She was only 13 years old, but she was 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, far larger than any of the teachers or school administrators who stood nearby, watching with concern. For a moment, the only sound was Sabrina’s loud moans. She threw a shoe at a teacher. She took off her shirt. She cursed at the school staff arranged around her in a protective circle.

Summoned to the scene, her parents tried to soothe her. She kicked and swung until they backed off. On the Sabrina tantrum scale, so far this registered only a 4 out of 10, declared her father, Jeremy Benedict, who was pacing nearby. “It could go either way.”

--------------

This was the third time this week he had rushed to school for one of Sabrina’s meltdowns. Lately, similar scenes had unfolded in doctors’ offices, parking lots, Walmart, hospitals, on street corners and inside the raised ranch house where the Benedict family lives in Homer, N.Y., a town of 6,293 nestled in a valley near the geographic center of the state.

Sabrina, who was given a diagnosis of autism coupled with a rare genetic disorder, has exhibited aggressive behavior since she was a little girl. Now she towers over her parents. When she is happy, she gives them great big hugs, knocking them slightly off balance. When she is feeling shy, she crouches behind them. When she is frustrated, she sometimes hits them.

There have been so many 911 calls this past year that the family invited over several police officers and paramedics to meet Sabrina under more positive circumstances, when they weren’t restraining her or strapping her to an ambulance stretcher.

Port Authority cops will stop following LGBT into bathrooms to boost arrest numbers

Port Authority cops will no longer be the bathroom police, after settling a class action lawsuit that accused officers of targeting gay men for bogus lewdness arrests in its Midtown bus terminal’s restrooms.

The lawsuit, filed in 2017, contended that the agency’s cops were following gay and bisexual men and gender nonconforming people into the Port Authority Bus Terminal bathrooms in a cynical and biased attempt to boost quality-of-life arrest numbers.

Some Port Authority Police Department cops would stare over the privacy stalls at men they believed to be gay while they’re using the urinal, and even expose themselves to try and get a lewd reaction from their targets, according to lawsuit. Once the men left the bathroom, they’d be arrested by a team of PAPD officers.

“This kind of blatant homophobia has no place in policing, and the reforms achieved in this lawsuit aim to safeguard against future abuses,” said Molly Griffard, a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society, which filed the lawsuit with Winston & Strawn
LLP.https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/ny-port-authority-lgbtq-class-action-bathroom-settlement-20220601-bbc3uf25rffmxkowjjrgjlv4uy-story.html

Miguel Mejia arrived at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on a warm summer evening eight years ago with plans to get a fresh tattoo in New Jersey. Before catching his bus, he made what he thought would be a quick stop at the men’s restroom.

But at the urinal, Mr. Mejia sensed he was being watched and, glancing to his right, saw a man in blue shorts smirking at him. Mr. Mejia ignored him and walked out. Then came a shoulder tap: Port Authority police officers said he was under arrest.

“I’m like, ‘What did I do? What’s the reason?’” said Mr. Mejia, who is now 51. “They said that I know what I did.”

Mr. Mejia was charged with public lewdness, which includes exposing oneself or performing sexual acts in public, but was acquitted at trial. He later learned that others had similarly disputed the accounts of Port Authority officers. So in 2017, he joined a class-action suit arguing that the agency was engaged in a pattern of “unlawful discrimination, targeting and false arrests.”

Another plaintiff, Cornell Holden, 35, was arrested two months earlier, also at a Port Authority bathroom for public lewdness, charges which were later dismissed. He said that he overheard the officer who arrested him call a colleague — the man who Mr. Holden said was standing next to him at a urinal — “the gay whisperer.”

Others have reported similar experiences, including one man who had been in a 10-year relationship when he said he was falsely accused. He recalled an officer remarking “you gay people” as he was arrested and said that the experience led to a decline in his mental health.

Woman seeking medically assisted death citing "abject poverty" gets outpouring of support

Woman seeking medically assisted death after failing to secure affordable housing finds lifeline following outpouring of financial support

The Toronto woman — identified in the outlet's report by the pseudonym Denise — shared her story with the Canadian network earlier this month, describing the numerous chronic illnesses she lives with, including Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, which she said causes rashes, difficulty breathing, and hemiplegic migraines that can lead to temporary paralysis.

The illness means Denise is susceptible to anaphylactic shock and possibly fatal allergic attacks brought on by chemicals such as cigarette smoke, laundry fumes, and air fresheners. Dr. Riina Bray, one of Denise's physicians, told CTV earlier this year that Denise needed "immediate relocation for her safety." People living with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities often start to improve in environments that are chemically cleaner, Bray said.

Denise also uses a wheelchair due to a previous spinal cord injury, the outlet reported.

For months, Denise and her friends fruitlessly searched for a wheelchair-accessible apartment with cleaner air that she could afford on her $1,169 monthly disability income.

With no options and diminishing hope, Denise began an application for medically assisted death in the summer of 2021, citing "abject poverty" as the primary factor. By the beginning of this month, two doctors had conditionally approved her application and her end-of-life documents were in the process of being finalized.

But since sharing her story, Denise said her life has "stabilized" following an outpouring of support from strangers around the world. Nearly 1,000 people have donated more than $65,000 to her GoFundMe campaign, she told CTV News last week. Denise is using the funds to afford a hotel room that uses low-scented cleaning chemicals and has fresh air from a nearby ravine that significantly lessens her pain.

"These are strangers saying they do not want this to happen. I am even struggling to find the words," she said.
