Watching the CBS special on separated migrant children.

Fucking trump. He should be thrown from office for that alone. The pure evil it requires to DESIGN a policy of family separation is beyond what people can even comprehend, I think. He and that vapid fucking succubus Nielsen should fry for the distress they've inflicted on those children.

We must defend our party and its representatives.

They've done what the constitution required them to do. The onslaught will be vicious. But we're in the right, and ultimately I believe the majority of the country will be with us.

I believe it's a 3- candidate race.

Unless and until some seismic shift can change the dynamic, our candidate is likely to be Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. Of those 3, Warren has the best and most well-articulated plans on ag/ rural issues, so I've switched my support to her. If Biden is the nominee i think that's great as well, the country and our party would be in excellent hands with Joe pop at the wheel. Bernie doesn't really do it for me, but I'd gladly vote for him in a general too. My candidate from the beginning has been Harris, but i think she botched her handling of health care. I'd love to see her on the ticket, but I'm on team Elizabeth!

The biggest misfortune tonight, IMO,

is that John Hickenlooper, Marianne Williamson, Andrew Yang, and Eric Swalwell were on the stage and Steve Bullock wasn't. He won't be the nominee, either, but would/ will add more than any of those folks to a dem debate.

On healthcare, I wonder if the MFA-ACA improvement

Debate will become more nuanced as the field gets winnowed down? It's so hard to break through right now, due to limited time at the mic, that candidates have to distill their views down to a pretty basic "support or oppose" position on MFA. I am a proponent of single payer, always have been, but I feel like we will need to have an intervening step between our current situation and getting where we need to be. Medicare as the public option, letting wage earners buy in for their dependents when it makes sense, giving a good public option to entrepreneurs, farmers, small business owners, etc. I just think folks with good insurance through work will, at a minimum, need to see a public system function for awhile, rather than just forcing them in on day 1.

The thing about the report re: trump's approval

is this: who's mind is changeable based on the Mueller report? Are there really people out there going "I really kind of like this guy, but I need a prior FBI director to tell me he's not a Russian asset to really commit"? Maybe there is, but I still don't think this helps him clear the 45% threshold, just like an actual indictment wouldn't drop him below 38. I think the cake is largely baked in both directions, but I'm interested in your thoughts.
