Hey Fox, remember BRIAN WILLIAMS' tiny helicopter fib?

Brian Williams, the embattled NBC news anchor whose credibility plummeted after he acknowledged exaggerating his role in a helicopter episode in Iraq, has been suspended for six months without pay, the network said on Tuesday night.

“This was wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian’s position,” Deborah Turness, the president of NBC News, said in a memo. Lester Holt, who stepped in for Mr. Williams this week, will continue as the substitute, the network said.

The suspension culminated a rapid and startling fall for Mr. Williams, who at age 55 was not only the head of the No. 1 evening news show, but also one of NBC’s biggest stars, a frequent celebrity guest on “Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock” and the late-night talk show circuit.

Mr. Williams has been drawing 9.3 million viewers a night, and his position seemed unassailable. Even as the stature of the nightly newscast faded in the face of real-time digital news, Mr. Williams was one of the most trusted names in America and commanded the respect accorded predecessors like Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings.

Of course you do!!

NBC News anchor Brian Williams found himself the story Thursday, his credibility seriously threatened because he claimed — falsely — that he had been in a helicopter hit by a grenade during the Iraq war.

NBC News officials would not say whether their top on-air personality would face disciplinary action. The "Nightly News" anchor for just over a decade, Williams had become an online punching bag overnight.

Tweets with the hashtag #BrianWilliamsMemories joked that he blew up the Death Star, saved someone from a polar bear and flew with Wonder Woman in her invisible helicopter. Photoshopped pictures showed Williams reporting from the moon, and riding shotgun with O.J. Simpson in his Ford Bronco.

Fox News promoted the demise of the EPA and promoted Deregulation, Free-Market

They can't run from history.

Here are a few, SO MUCH bullshit:

ONE::

It's time to get rid of the EPA May 7, 2015 6:08pm EDT
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/its-time-to-get-rid-of-the-epa

< snip to oend of piece>

With NASA data confirming that the “pause” in global warming continued through 2013, it is time to call out this enviro-bureaucratic conspiracy for what it is: The most elaborate, expensive, egregious government-subsidized hoax in human history – a massive conspiracy aimed at redistributing wealth from the industrial world to the third world and expanding dependency (and government power) here at home.

At the leading edge of this conspiracy – working in lockstep with the enviro-radicals – is Obama’s EPA, which has become a clear and present danger to American free enterprise, energy independence, the rule of law and U.S. sovereignty. Any U.S. lawmaker who is serious about creating new jobs, lowering energy costs and preserving our constitutional form of government must make gutting this rogue bureaucracy their top priority.

It is time to de-fang the EPA -- and lawmakers can take a critical first step in that direction by defunding enforcement budgets for job-crippling edicts like the Utility MACT rule and other radical Obama-era regulations.

TWO::

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/steve-forbes-trump-deregulation-lasting-legacy

Steve Forbes: Trump deregulation boosting our economy – Here’s one example June 29, 2019 10:31am EDT

Two big things have been propelling the U.S. economy forward in impressive fashion: the 2017 Trump tax cuts and the president’s relentless drive to reduce unnecessary regulations, which are another form of taxation.

One example of the president delivering his deregulation promise came in late May when the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Railroad Administration abandoned a costly regulatory proposal issued by President Barack Obama.

The measure would have forced private freight railroad carriers to continue operating with two people in a locomotive cab. This proposed Obama, anti-business mandate was always wrongheaded, and its revocation carries important lessons for how best to regulate.

The Trump Transportation Department deserves immense credit for turning rhetoric into action.

A nanny-ish, we-know-best mentality on a decision better left to the private market is simply unneeded as railroads continue to set all-time safety records – a result of private investments averaging $25 billion in recent years.

Indeed, as the American Action Forum outlined, “regulators should not impose specific and costly mandates when lacking evidence they will solve a problem. Regulators should also be mindful of the implications today’s regulatory decisions will have on future innovation, particularly when evidence suggests those innovations could improve safety.”

Instead, with action from the Transportation Department, trucks and railroads, along with the rest of the freight market, can let the market decide what works best.

THREE::

Steve Forbes: Our (deregulated) railroads are an economic miracle. Let's learn from them
June 21, 2016 3:28pm

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/steve-forbes-our-deregulated-railroads-are-an-economic-miracle-lets-learn-from-them

The economic miracle of America’s deregulated railroads is an object lesson we cannot afford to ignore. People who want more government involvement in everything from our health care to the financial system are missing the point. Railroads were failing under government control. When that control was lifted they flourished, creating jobs, making the U.S. more competitive in global markets, and improving the natural environment as a result.

America’s railroads, the best in the world, are living proof that less is more when it comes to government. Government intervention came close to destroying the rail system; deregulation saved it. Putting that revelation to work in other facets of our economy and daily lives should be the top priority of the new administration.

State Legislature to BAN Bible sales.

Nah, but, imagine if Calif did ban the Bible being sold in bookstores or Christian Nationalists, Evangelical, nutjob specialty stores.

Such a law certainly would send a powerful message.

I know...

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Dominion suit: November 8 Broadcast Bartiromo featuring Sidney Powell published the "fraud and

algorithm lies about Dominion."

From page 117 of the scanned doument #'S- not the file's page #'s. CHECK IT OUT.

Powell's segment was pre-recorded. Ex.424 Even before the pre-recorded interview, Bartiromo and Grossberg knew what Powell would say on air on November 8.

If any doubt existed about what Powell would say in the interview, certainly none existed by the time the pre-taped interview aired. No such doubt ever existed, though, because Powell sent Bartiromo an email prior to the interview with the subject line Election Fraud Info which Bartiromo forwarded to Grossberg with information from a woman claiming Dominion's software flips votes from Trump to Biden and tying Dominion to a conspiracy theory involving Nancy Pelosi and Senator Dianne Feinstein. Ex.154. In the same email, Powell's singular source explained that Roger Ailes (who,as previously noted, had died years ago) huddles every day with Rupert Murdoch about airing anti-Trump material, and that Justice Scalia was killed in a human hunting expedition.

Powell's source also explained that she gets her information rom experiencing something like time-travel in a semi-conscious state," allowing her to see what others don't see, and hear what others don't hear, and she received messages from the wind." Bartiromo read this email at the time: she responded to Powell saying she had shared this very imp[ortant] info with Eric Trump. Ex.259. Powell provided Bartiromo with no other evidence for her claims about Dominion. Ex.98,Bartiromo 147:6-15.

Bartiromo and Grossberg, and the executives supervising their show chose to air unsubstantiated, improbable, and damning claims about Dominion in the face of a mountain of evidence indicating those claims were false.

Bartiromo and Grossberg continued to receive numerous direct communications from Dominion citing to the public evidence that the claims about Dominion were false. Grossberg 207:5-208:12. Tony Fratto, who has known Bartiromo for years and has appeared on television with her multiple times, reached out to Bartiromo personally to tell her thatPowell's claims about Dominionwere false.

But at no point did Bartiromo tell her viewers that the claims made by Powell and Giuliani on her program had been unsupported lies.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine's history on the issues of rail safety:

Nada, Nyet, Nothing, Squat.

DeWine KNEW he had toxic substances crossing his state, what did he ever have to say about it?

I can't find a single fucking thing online that he's addressed any of it prior to this latest derailment.

Scientists fear a Great Toxic Dustbowl could soon emerge from the Great Salt Lake

[link:https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/10/us/utah-great-salt-lake-dust-pollution-weir-wxc/index.html|

By Bill Weir, CNN Chief Climate Correspondent
Updated 8:33 AM EST, Fri February 10, 2023

On the shore of Great Salt Lake, Utah CNN —

Like the rest of the West, Utah has a water problem. But megadrought and overconsumption aren’t just threats to wildlife, agriculture and industry here. A disappearing Great Salt Lake could poison the lungs of more than 2.5 million people.

When lake levels hit historic lows in recent months, 800 square miles of lakebed were exposed – soil that holds centuries of natural and manmade toxins like mercury, arsenic and selenium. As that mud turns to dust and swirls to join some of the worst winter air pollution in the nation, scientists warn that the massive body of water could evaporate into a system of lifeless finger lakes within five years, on its way to becoming the Great Toxic Dustbowl.

“This is an ecological disaster that will become a human health disaster,” warned Bonnie Baxter, director of the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. “We know about dust storms, we know about particulate pollution, we know about heavy metals and how they’re bad for humans,” she told CNN. “We see a crisis that is imminent.”

As a so-called “terminal lake,” Great Salt Lake is fed by rain, snow and runoff but with no rivers to take water to the ocean, salt and minerals build up over time. Only brine flies and shrimp can survive in the salty water, creating a unique ecosystem that supports 10 million migratory birds. With only sail boats and paddleboards navigating the lake, it is so peaceful, 80,000 white pelicans annually nest on islands without fish.

But as the water evaporates without replenishment, the yacht basin is all mud, predators can walk to the pelican nests and the bottom of the food chain is collapsing.

“You’ve got the lake shrinking, the habitat is drying up and what water is remaining is too salty for (algae and microbes) to survive,” Baxter said.

She came to Utah to study this biology 15 years ago and soon realized that the fate of the brine shrimp is directly related to the future of Salt Lake City. When she’s not teaching biology, she visits schools, retirement homes and farm conventions to spread the word that every drop of water counts – now more than ever.
