He is stuck, he is looking for a way out. He can't find one so he is just lashing out, trying to get Ukraine to surrender by brute force.
I guess the question is, how do we let Putin win, save face, without him really winning? That is a really tough question.
Update on my melanoma treatment.
There is no update, I have not been treated at all and I have good health insurance.
Fair warning to everyone. This is what I have learned.
Doctors, hospitals and insurance companies play a game of poker with our lives. I need a pet scan before any treatment can begin. My doctor requested a full body pet scan. The so called doctors of the insurance company made a counter offer. It has been stuck in limbo.
When I see my doctor I am going to ask him this question word for word. Don't you know how to play fucking Poker? They are gambling with my life. The insurance company is offering my doctor a cheaper scan, just a head scan. My doctor will probably accept it. When that will happen they cannot tell me.
We have to move to a medicare for all healthcare system. We have to take the profit out of healthcare. If the American people do not understand this, it proves to me again how stupid the American people really are. I am not eligible for medicare yet, I am 63. If I had medicare my scan would have been approved already and my surgery would have been done.
I repeat, I have good health insurance, but it's still insurance, PROFIT.
Whenever the news shows the map of Ukraine, I shake my head in disbelief.
Putin is trying to take over a country about the size of Texas with a force of roughly 200,000 troops. He has these troops spread out for hundreds of miles. He is attacking from the North and east. His supply lines stretch for hundreds of miles.
The people of Ukraine have made it clear they will never surrender. When grandmothers are willing to take up arms against you, you have a problem.
The Ukraine army has grown in size. Thousands and thousands of anti-tank, anti-aircraft missiles have been delivered to the Ukraine military. More and more of these weapons are arriving everyday. Putin will not be able to stop the flow of arms into Ukraine
We can see from videos the Ukraine army is fighting in small groups across Ukraine. They are destroying tanks and aircraft one by one. They have killed thousands of Russian soldiers .
Putin has been trying to surround cities for over two weeks. If you have trouble surrounding cites, what is going to happen when you try to take those cities? It looks like Putin is hoping he can bomb, starve, the Ukrainian people until they surrender. They will not surrender. They will fight to the last man. You don't have to be a military expert to see what is going to happen to the Russian forces over time.
They will face hundreds, perhaps thousands of small groups of Ukrainian soldiers armed with thousands of missiles. They will attack the Russian soldiers everywhere across Ukraine with hit and run tactics. They will attack Russian supply lines. They will attack Russian patrols. Putin will eventually surround cities, lay siege to them. Those soldiers will come under attack from every direction. Yes, the Russians can kill hundreds of thousands of people. Yes, they can turn cities into ruble. That doesn't mean you are winning.
Putin must be reading the wrong history books. History tells us you can level a city, lay siege to it and the soldiers in that city will not give up. It can result in a stalemate. If you send forces in they will have to fight door to door. You will lose thousands of soldiers.
If this war continues on for months I can see Russian soldiers in certain cases getting cut off from supply lines, entrapped. I can see a Russian patrol make a wrong turn right into an ambush. Russian soldiers will never know when or where the next attack will come from. They will be demoralized.
Unless Putin has a secret plan that nobody knows about. We could be witnessing one of the biggest military blunders in history.
Many parents in Russia will not be able to bury their sons killed in Ukraine.
They will notice their son is no longer calling home. Maybe their government will inform them their son was killed?
But they will never receive the body of their sons. They are lying on the ground dead, rotting.

First garland arrested, charged, the brain dead Trump voters who stormed their own capital. He has now arrested, charged the foot soldiers of Trumps attempted over throw our country, the proud boys and oath keepers. Some of them are telling all.
The next step will most likely charge people connected to Trump, his lawyers, his administration, his campaign, who enabled the attack on the capital to take place.
The Garland investigation is moving the way it should, from the bottom up.
To all the DU members who say nothing will happen to Trump and his enablers, I believe you will be proven wrong.
Ukraine has proven something beyond any doubt.
In a conventional war, America, NATO, would kick the shit out of Russia. The Russian military is not impressive at all.
By the month of May the Ukraine forests turn green, good cover for attacks.
Right now the trees, foliage, are bare, but not for long. This will give the Ukraine fighters great cover for ambush attacks. Putin may take over the cities eventually, at great cost, but the people of Ukraine will take to the forests and never stop fighting.

At this point, Putin must be terrified of being assassinated.
The Russian culture is a strange culture. You can't speak out against leadership because they will kill you. The only way to remove Putin is by gunpoint, force. People close to Putin who have power are the only ones that can stop him.
I find it hard to believe they are not powerful people in Russia who believe Putin has lost his mind and is going to destroy Russia. We have to hope someone takes action.

What's more deadly, cancer or dealing with insurance companies?
As you may know, I was recently diagnosed with melanoma. The doctors have moved quickly, however the pet scan I need is being held up by my insurance company, waiting for approval. What a bunch of bullshit that is. The doctor cannot do the surgery until I get the pet scan.
I have been on the phone raising hell. I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I found someone today who is going to help me deal with my insurance company. My wife and I have never had a problem getting preventive scans approved in the past. Now when I need a scan that could save my life they decide to play games.
