On the Rawstory website there is a picture of a bell at bottom right hand corner, hover over with mouse and it should say whether notifications are on or off. I think you can toggle them on or off by clicking this icon. A lot of website are asking to allow notifications when you visit them. This is what that means, say no when they ask.
Method 2
On Chrome
Go to Settings
Scroll down to end and select Advanced
Scroll down to Content Settings
Scroll down to Notifications
Under Notifications you will see a toggle for "Ask before sending"
Turn on if it is not
Then you will see list of blocked websites and a list of allowed websites for notifications
You can manually add www.rawstory.com to list of blocked, but I find it easier and more reliable to
go down to allowed websites, find the offender and remove it from the list (click the three dots to the right and you
will see the option {fyi if there is a funny image instead of the three dots it means it is a plugin installed and you have to
remove that plugin, rawstory is not a plug in})
If you use another browser there is some similar method you will need to look for.
