FedEx and UPS don't do most rural and suburban deliveries, it's contracted that the USPS performs final segment delivery, making only 1 cent per package. This way FedEx and UPS get to privatize profits and socialize expenses.

Without USPS, those other two will be boned, and they don't have the infrastructure for rural/suburban deliveries.
