3. I hope that nobody is doing a "split-your-donation" gimmick...

... the one where the person or group doing the mailing gets to keep 30% (or something) per donation. I've seen that a lot recently. A politician or organization uses their mailing list to ostensibly raise money for a specific candidate (or candidates) but as a reward for their efforts, the fine print reveals that they're going to keep part of your donation for themselves.

That kind of grifting is dishonest and should be banned. It may not be technically illegal (since they DO inform the donor in very fine print... with light-gray text on a white background, probably.) But I can tell you that I think it's ethically wrong. If the organizations and politicians want to help raise money on someone else's behalf, then they should give 100% to the candidate (or cause) without keeping a little "vig" off the top.
