(60,361 posts)Trump has been let off before 12:01--AF1 powers up and leaves Trump standing wherever he is, and the press gets a great page one for the next day with Trump turning his head and watching AF1 take off and head back to Andrews with his suitcases.
Trump has not been let off by 12:01 and Biden orders the plane to return to Andrews no matter where it is. Trump protests, but as a private citizen who is now an uninvited passenger. The press has a field day when Trump is forced to come down the stairs, and call a taxi. Under this scenario, he does get his suitcases.
Trump is still aboard while AF1 is in the air, and Biden orders any excess baggage tossed overboard after heading out over water, so that no one gets a Trump crashing into their driveway at 32 ft/sec/sec from 30,000 feet (yecch!). Great White Sharks in the Atlantic may or may not decide that what has just been added to today's menu resembles lunch.
The crew has Trump aboard in the morning, but has discovered "mechanical difficulty" that delays takeoff until after 12:01, at which point, Trump is no longer authorized to order some flat club soda, much less a destination. Fuming, he is forced to return down the stairway, and gives the press tomorrow's page one. Mothers hide the photo from small children to avoid the risk of their turning to stone. President Biden and Vice-President Harris, when asked for a comment, reply in unison, "Donald WHO?"
