6. FBI directors have ten-year terms, although they can be removed by a president.

So unless Biden has a reason to sack him, he'll stay on. Other exec-branch appointees are expected to turn in their resignations at the change of an administration, but not the FBI head. I think Biden wants to keep him on at least for awhile because so much of the government has been so hollowed out, and he'll have so many others that he will have to replace.
