My high school friend had to flee Ruidoso with her dogs

5. She was technically in Ruidoso Downs. And her home

And outbuildings were spared.

But…. That small community will have so much to rebuild.

Our governor (Lujan) declared a disaster area. She’s a great governor shepherded us thru Covid.

And thankfully we have a democratic administration that will help!

But as a 50+ year resident of NM my heart is breaking mostly for the residents in the area, Mescalero Apache Tribe, and also for the land and wildlife that perish.
