In reply to the discussion: New York Times accused of 'sanewashing' Trump post with report on dumping 'brown liquid' [View all]Ilikepurple
(594 posts)18. Yes, we must sanewash the sanewashers lest insanity prevail?
For some, blind allegiance to legacy media seems to be the most important issue of our time. Im not sure what this statement is meant to argue? Are we trying to chill criticism on the basis that disagreement exists? I guess we should have no problem with the Dobbs decision overturning Roe because the Supreme Court would have been criticized no matter what they did? If, more charitably, you are saying that the NYT will never be good enough for some of us, that might be true, but it doesnt directly respond to the sanewashing accusations here. Being the target of the hypercritical does not by itself shield one from all criticism.

OP
Don't read it. David Parkman might good substitute for you. Personally, believe readers of NYT know what's going on

This is hardly new. The allegedly "left" NY Times including assholes like Haberman, Dowd, et al has been doing this...

Brown sewage would have been a more accurate and equally polite term as "liquid'
