While president, Trump influenced a number of primaries and elections. He certainly wasn't 100% effective, but enough to scare the bejeezus out of the ReThugs. Even though he no longer holds office, Trump still holds sway. It's unfortunate. I mean, the Republicans should vote their conscience even if they run the risk of losing their cushy jobs in Congress, but they're putting self-interest ahead of country. That's why they're the inferior party.
