I really did!
A couple decades ago, my work team and I were on a "field trip" in Boston, part of which included a duckboat ride. While we were in the water, the drivers let me drive! They really did!!! Nobody else got the honor! I can't remember why I was allowed to, now, and I can't remember why we were even on a duckboat.
The best part, though, was when we passed an expensive store and I said I couldn't afford to shop there. A couple women on the back of the boat started pleading with my boss to "Give MT a raise so she can afford to shop there, too! She deserves a raise!"

In Pgh they routinely allow any kids on the tour drive the boat. It is a real thrill for them.

I was thown off by the term too. Out here in the Cheddar Wilderness, we just call them ducks.
