...invited the Red Chinese Army in (under the pretense of being blue-helmeted UN peacekeepers) in order to fulfill his dream of turning us into a socialist hellhole/"paradise".

This crap gets recycled over and over. The first time I heard about FEMA camps they were supposedly done by the Reagan administration early on, before they were backing the contras, in order to round up protesters and eliminate any "Vietnam style protests" over a military intervention in Nicaragua. My source for this (in the late 80s or early 90s) was a fellow who politically identified himself as "libertarian" and had a thing for conspiracy theories. And before FEMA even existed, the story used "gulags" and "concentration camps" for where good-hearted Americans would be put into in the event of an always-around-the-corner commie takeover.
