and then cook it completely until there is no pink near the bones, just grey. Check it with a meat thermometer to make sure, it should be about 165 when you let it rest.

Always rest meat after cooking to let the juices redistribute and the center cook completely.

I assume all chicken is contaminated. It's kept me from catching salmonella my whole adult life.
