(4,906 posts)very different days then and now..Obama and his policies have divided du..into politics over principle. Most of us understand that and were willing to make a few concessions, especially in the beginning. I heard the speech and the hypocrisy and was disgusted. To be honest, I've been disgusted since the Afghanistan surge speech in fall 2009. The open wound that has been allowed to fester is torture, illegal wars, and no accountability for the criminals. It is not who we are or who we want to be and will continue to rot the nation until we deal with it. There are no excuses, there are no justifications, there is no rewriting history even if attempted by an eloquent albeit dishonest president. Some of you blame Will Pitt for speaking the truth about Obama, but the truth is good enough. Its sometimes impossible to find meaningful conscious conversations here any longer because of the knee jerk reaction to defend the indefensible acts of a president we elected and supported. I'm over politicians. Obama was the biggest eye opening disappointment of my 4 decade voting life. Better late than never, I guess, although i could have lived without that.
