(114,523 posts)and there was nothing special about him until he lucked into a showbiz career. He served a whopping 45 days in jail. He did the crimes, he did the time.
However, I can't understand why he's looking for a pardon. It's not like his past as a rotten teenager is working against him in Hollywood.
I'd rather let the conviction stand. That way it's always a reminder that even the rottenest teenager out there can eventually redeem himself with equal amounts of luck and hard work.
He can better redeem himself by speaking out to the current crop of rotten teenagers who were brought up to be bigots. That's the kind of thing that can earn him a pardon.
ETA: Irony time: Wahlberg was discovered by a black man who shaped his early career and now he's asking a black man for a pardon.
