At 1 year old, they can drink whole milk. You can buy the store-brand 45 oz can of dried formula at Babies R Us for $28. That'll last way longer than a week, especially if you mix it with cereal.
Both my boys never touched formula again even a minute after their first birthdays.

One year olds should be getting human milk or formula. It's the earliest safe age to begin weaning.
