1. The group in power are more-or-less liberals. It should be our objective to ensure that liberal governments are put in power in every nation on the face of the Earth. Therefore, the potential downfall of one is bad.

2. The particular party in question is/was corrupt as fuck. Unfortunately, it was more-or-less the status quo for Brazil across the board. Our position should be to encourage Brazil to put forward very strong anti-corruption laws. It could be used as an opportunity to clean things up, while hopefully allowing them to save face and remain in power. I know the far right--especially the religious right--are excited about all of this and are hoping to make gains.
