but I do find that a lot of useless interpersonal flaming is gone, though not all of that. I think its important to look at it in perspective - virtually every news forum on the internet has seen its forums devolve into the equivalent of 5-year old s**t-slinging tournaments, and had all serious readers driven out. Many (if not most) news sites that don't depend on forums have shut them down as public embarrassments. DU was never that bad, but I can recall times when I looked at the general discussion pages and deliberately avoided two-thirds of them, as any attempt to discuss quickly led a good dragging into the mud.
If you've got something you've put some thought to (such as this OP), I don't see it getting pulled.

I disagree. DU is finally back to being a sane place I can think about recommending to people again.
