In reply to the discussion: American Airlines cancels flight after teens refuse to wear masks [View all]Rorey
(8,445 posts)My son, his wife, and their two-year-old flew about a month ago. It was a pleasure trip, so I wasn't really happy that they were going during the pandemic, but it wasn't my decision. They started working on getting her adjusted to wear a mask about a month ahead of time. She did pretty good, but she definitely wasn't always in compliance. Fortunately they didn't get kicked off any of their flights. Even more fortunately, she didn't get sick. I was much more worried about that last possible scenario than about them getting kicked off of a flight.
I wonder if it's other passengers complaining in a lot of these cases of toddlers getting kicked off. My son said that on the way back my granddaughter hardly had her mask on at all and nobody said anything. On top of that, she was very grumpy. It was a pretty big trip for a two-year-old. On about the 8th day she said she wanted to go home. She missed her toys and her room and her routine. I could have told them that was going to happen, but I kept my mouth shut so they could learn their own lessons.
