take the case of Serbia for example, in due course war criminals were prosecuted and punished. Sadly, some of them run the country today after killing democracy and we should learn from that trajectory the importance of prosecuting all of them, not just the leader.

It was only a matter of time before we got a Spiked! article decrying the ICC in relation to war criminal Putin. In fact identical arguments were made in 1999 about Milosevic. Yet after his ousting, his own people handed him over to The Hague, although he died during the trial.
