You would think that Walmart could put together a Thanksgiving and an Xmas
basket for their employees .... they do sell groceries and they could write it off
taxes too.

I agree, $10 is a vast improvement over $7, but OUR Walmart is campaigning for $25K/yr ($13/hour).
