WASHINGTON Karl Roves American Crossroads operation is hammering Hillary Clinton with a new ad in Iowa calling her a tool of Wall Street.
Ever wonder how Hillary Clinton can afford so many ads? Chances are, they were paid for with Wall Street cash, the Rove ad declares. Hillary Clintons gotten 54 times more money from Wall Street interests than from all of Iowa. Hillary rewarded Wall Street with the $700 billion bailout. And Wall Street made her a multi-millionaire... Does Iowa really want Wall Street in the White House?
While there are elements of truth to the attack, its a hypocritical assault from a GOP operative who has happily accepted Wall Street funding for decades. It also reveals that Roves operation believes Clinton is a more formidable general election candidate than her progressive challenger, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt). But it just might end up helping Sanders win the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucus on Feb. 1.

n a year when advertising dollars have done little to move voters, that wont stop Rove from trying. So how is a GOP establishment Super PAC manager supposed to survive in 2016? He just has to be more creative in his dog-and-pony show to donors. It looks like the Brooklyn Bridge isnt for sale, but look over here. Heres the Manhattan Bridge. Lets see if we can buy this one! In other words, pivot away from helping establishment GOP candidates, and run ads in the Democratic primary.
Now, Rove is likely making the case to the big GOP donors, who are a little Super PAC shy, that hes the only one who can stop Hillary from being elected president. More specifically, they have to stop her in the Democratic primary because the leading GOP candidates, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, cant beat her in the general election. The old socialist from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, is an easier opponent for Trump or Cruz in November. So dont waste your money with Bush, Rubio, Kasich, Christie. Send it to Crossroads. Thats the best investment. Rove will beat Clinton in the primary, so we will have a chance of winning in the general. Thats the pitch from Rove, and its just got to be the motivation behind the anti-Clinton ads.
