3. I'm not sure what having to pay for an on-line media subscription has to do with trump.

But yes, getting so whenever anyone provides a link to an article, I can't read it unless I'm a subscriber. Same with FB links. I refuse to join FB so can't always see what's at the end of a link to FB.

But enterprises have to make money if they want to stay in business, and I guess if what they're publishing is important to you, you pay the price of a subscription, just like you would for a "Paper" newspaper, news magazine, celebrity magazine, etc. After all the New Yorker was not a free magazine before it went online.
