12. A lot of Caribbean and LatAm nations adore Chávez because of his generosity towards them

If it wasn't for Venezuela's petrodollars, the Chavista regime wouldn't have been able to buy so many allies. And now, curiously, they all seem to be supporting Guyana instead of Venezuela in the territorial dispute. I suppose this means that because of the terrible economic conditions that Chavismo has caused in Venezuela, combined with the plummeting price of oil, they can't really be buying support nowadays from their neighbors.
