Because if the party doesn't move rapidly to the left, not only on social issues, but on financial issues, 2016 is going to be a disaster of historical proportions

First of all we must acknowledge that there are office holders and activists that call themselves Democrats that are, in reality, working for the other side with the objective of dividing the party and damaging our electoral hopes. They are clandestine Republicans. Acknowledge this first. Weed them out! Their pet issues include free trade, Chained CPI, privatizing education, raising the retirement age and other issues that will undermine the traditional strengths of the Democratic Party. These DINOs even promote trickle down concepts. They wouldn't utter a peep about raising taxes on the wealthy or corporations—exactly what the American people want to hear and what will generate voter enthusiasm.

Remember, leading to the 2008 election candidate Obama's central campaign theme was doing away with the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. This was correctly understood by the Obama team to be wildly popular with the electorate. It worked!
