...and it's not the first 'slip' from Hickenlooper.

This isn't new. Politicians have been held to account for what they say since the beginning of elections. Communicating their beliefs is literally one of the most prominent things they will be tasked to do as president.

And this isn't 'blown out of proportion.' It's a serious tell for those of us accustomed to having our complaints about racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, turned back on us as if discussing those abuses is the abuse itself.

What Hickenlooper is doing here is trying to deflect from what he obviously considers an untoward suggestion, despite the answer he gave previous. He's resentful about being asked, displaying typical umbrage.

What I'd ask him is why he believes his candidacy would be more significant for women than electing a female to the office.
