6. But on a more serious note

I would nominate the homeless. As we accelerate through the changes the world of tech brings, world events and increasingly staggering amounts of wealth accumulated by people we see the homeless continue to suffer on our streets for lack of food, shelter, health care and a friend. Maybe to die there. That it persists to such a degree in this country year after year while we easily have the resources to care for them is a national disgrace.

I vote for the homeless because at least once in their struggle they should be held up to our faces and know that for some of us what happens to them does matter. I know it won't happen. I know they won't be chosen. It's uncomfortable and being uncomfortable doesn't sell ads, magazines or get clicks.
