It would demonstrate Resolve, Firmness, Character and Leadership (not to mention Confidence). Or in normal language, a commitment to their proclaimed aims.

In fact, while we're at it, sex trafficking is a multibillion dollar business involving the movement of thousands of people a year across international borders. There must be a lot of collusion in this world which still consists of national borders, tax ministries, etc. if this sort of thing, which is illegal in most all nations, continues at its existing volume. (Don't think for a minute that I don't know the dynamics of the situation and that I'm actually wondering how this happens.) So instead of being buttbuddies with business like they usually are, the administration could instead apply pressure American-style to the worst known bad actors in this situation until they ceased and desisted. Of course that would have to start at home, but they could try doing two things at once (and both correctly, imagine that).
