32. That's an interesting observation
Consensus politics is popular in Europe, I'm told. It may also account for the transferring of power to the trans-national level - notably the EU - away from the whims of the people.

As a thought, could it be the main stream parties no longer have solutions for (or even consider) the issues? And this is driving people towards the fringes on the left and right. I wonder what it would have been like if the Cold War kept going & the far Left wasn't discredited.....
