and he introduced one of his buddies to his sister and that buddy is now my son in law. Neither one is still on the force, but son in law can't get over the fact that he was once a cop. He listens to all the police calls on a scanner, he's made two or three 'citizens arrests' (one of which resulted in a lawsuit against him and the PD), and he talks cop jargon all the time. My son (who left on much better terms) tells me that the current police chief and mid management of the department all wish he'd just go the fuck away but he isn't one to take a hint. They are gonna have to tell him in very stark clear terms he ain't an officer anymore and he's become a pimple on the face of progress.

He really isn't a bad son in law but he really needs to admit he fucked up his opportunity with the PD and move on with his life.
