97. the 240Z gearing changed in '72 when they changed
the tranny to a 5 speed instead a 4. My 71 was a very nice performer, high compression head 9:1, but it was long legged not as fast off the line as the 72 due to a different rear end ratio.

The Z32 was/is a more expensive car with much more technology, it retained the made for racing attitude. There ain't no cup holder, and if there was it would fly out anyways due to the excellent cornering ability.
