I am 63 yrs old and a Florida driver. I have been renewing my DL for many yrs either Thur the mail or on line. This past yr after sending in my renewal I kept the form near the computer to put away later. When I picked it up to file I just happened to look at the BACK and found the affidavit that stated 'by signing you agreed to be registered for the Selective Service and applied to BOTH male and FEMALE applicants! Also noted that it would apply when the applicant reached the age of 18.
I work with many teen aged kids and for the fun of it I asked them ALL how many had registered for the draft when they turned 18. NONE had or so they thought until I asked them if they had a drivers license and showed them my PROOF that it was a DONE deal! I raged about it for months and still carry the document in my wallet and bring it up whenever I can. TRUE!
