15. Why
Because BushCo (including Turdblossom) have a policy to demean and destroy anybody who crosses them - and anybody who makes their hacks (Brownie as in "You're doing a good job Brownie" and Miers) look bad.

Why did Bushco and Brownie keep not the just Red Cross - but the Southern Baptist Brotherhood (humanitarian evangelicals with their 18 wheeler, mass feeding mobile kitchens), and the Salvation Army (humanitarian evangelicals), and the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Civil Air Patrol, and the Ham Radio Emergency Operators (remember, the cell phone and land line systems were dead -- and contrary to what most people think, the cell net requires landline electricity to power the routers and repeater towers and land line comms between repeater towers) -- the emergency plan is to have Ham Operators at all hospital emergency rooms so that the Missing In Iraq National Guard knows that there are patients at the hospitals.

Nobody covers anything that makes Bushco look bad.

BTW - I am a Red Cross volunteer - and I cooled my heels waiting to get in, and I am a Coast Guard veteran (Captain of the Port, New Orleans), and a Ham Emergency Operator -- and this is what i saw first hand and heard first hand.

And I am a DUer, and an ACLUer, and a Democrat (have been one for 45 years).
