24. Call me Pollyanna -- I think they *are* listening
From a few of the staff reactions at various times, I think the calls *are* having an effect.

The problem is, we have to remember that the Reich Wing has been dedicated to doing this for many years now, and don't let up. They call and squaaack at *everything*. They have made themselves impossible to ignore. *That's* what we're up against..... we have to learn that if we really want our country back, we're going to have to take it seriously, and start making a lot of noise, make noise consistently, and be prepared to make it a lifestyle. It isn't a one or two shot deal. It's a commitment.

We're so used to getting bent out of shape if some small thing causes us discomfort, or requires some effort. So, the thought of having to stay on top of issues, and calling and writing continuously galls us. I don't like it either, all that much. All things being equal, I'd really rather be sailing. :)

However, to keep things in perspective, I remember the troops out there in that broiling sun, never knowing when they'll get blown to bits, and the Iraqi people themselves, having endured a hell I can't even imagine, and hunkering down while their whole country is going up in smoke, then being occupied by a foreign horde they didn't invite, and watching family and neighbors being "disappeared". Compared to all that, spending 15 minutes a day calling and/or writing really doesn't seem like all that much.

The issue is that if there are so many thousands of us who are deeply displeased that we could have such huge marches, then there are enough of us to pressure for change if we all keep at this on a daily basis. There are some great scoops here, terrific info, and it's almost a crime not to put it to use.... not just chatting back and forth among ourselves about it, but making sure that this info gets to the "fencesitters", and that our representatives in the government have absolutely no doubt what it is we are expecting from them.

I hear ya about getting too old to do all the walking. My foot hears ya, my knee hears ya, and my aching back hears ya. :) I think so many of us see just how bad the whole situation is with our nation, and want it back. It's overwhelming to see just how much needs to be done, and we get tired just thinking of all we *should* be doing. But, the fact is, we still have lives to live, and still need to find time and energy to just enjoy. So, finding our niche, as you've done with urging people to take action, is very important. You're doing a lot to Take It Back, and I applaud you.
