Not bad for someone starting at cool on Kerry two springs ago, who was brackish even a couple of months ago and tepid for most of the summer. I was encouraged by his care to mention women's rights (though not a word about right to choose), civil rights, his positive statement--and evident pride--about the 1960s peace and civil rights movement changing the world. Disappointments: No mention of Iran-Contra; no acknowledgment of gays and lesbians; no overt statement about IWR (despite the oblique mention about "nuance"); despite all the talk of faith, not the least bit of acknowledgment of atheism (he took a step backwards, in my opinion. But he did make me feel better about voting for him as an alternative to that useless Bush asshole who's infesting the WH now.
