7. The Iraqi Photo Project
was one small way that some Americans could convey their profound sense of grief and shame, as well as their heartfelt apology for what has been done in their names.

Photographs of ordinary Americans holding a handwritten message, an expression of what they feel in their hearts about the war and its results were sent to appropriate Arab media outlets.

In my community, a local restaurateur wrote our message in Arabic. The photo was also printed in our local newspaper.

Unfortunately, the website ( http://www.forusa.org/programs/iraq/iraq-photoproject.html ) is no longer available.
