to be hardline.

I've watched Murdering Joe Scarborough maybe twice in my life, but one of those times--I think election night--he ranted about how redistricting was killing COngress. He said that both parties now make deals during redistrictng to divide regions into safe Republican and safe Democratic regions, and the result is that Congress increasingly comprises extremists from both parties with fewer moderates. Even Scarborough said this would destroy the government eventually.
