18. He doesn't think of citizenship in the way most Americans do
Yes, he's American and yes, he lives in America

But his loyalty isn't to a country or to a shared democratic concept of citizenship.

Bush's idea of America is more a means to an end than it is a belief in the ideals of the country.

He's not alone in this thinking.

Bush and his ilk use America to gain power and money...but they don't believe in what America stands for...and when they do speak of the ideals of America, they apply them only to themselves - even if people hear it as them sharing their own dreams and aspirations.

"Bush is one of us" is what they hear...but that's not what Bush means. He means how he sees America applies to only those who are like him.

People like Bush will use the ultra extreme nut-case religious and the bigoted to achieve their aims - because those people want to limit freedom and control people - which makes it easier for Bush and other thugs to steal from the people. Because control is important for people like Bush to rob the country and the people(as well as other countries)...and their supporters make it easy - because they think Bush actually shares their thinking.

So they support Bush and Bush seems to support them...except Bush is the one walking away with the money and power that keeps him free of poverty, free of bad to no health care, free of the day to day struggles to survive that many of his supporters go through.

I'm not talking his base now...cause his true base are the very wealthy and the very powerful...they benefit as well from the supporters, or the true believers, who actually believe Bush gives a damn if Gays get married or not...Bush doesn't...but if the people helping to better control the population believe it(his supporters), then he promotes it, since it serves his purpose.
