5. Three goals.

1) Need for physical security
It must be explained why Bush's agenda is destructive to the literal well being of the person and his family (edit: or more to the point, wy our program is better)
2) Need for social security
I'm not talking about the program, I'm talking about having people feel like they are going to be accepted, and be safe within society, even when they are old, or crotchety, or a different color, whatever. Its incredibly important to have social programs that take care of disabled for this reason, it moralizes the people and makes them feel safe. Also, Howard Deans call to serve one another, and those traditional good ethics of helping the disadvantaged, and each other, serve this goal.
3)Need for spiritual security
The majority of people in this country who are religious, or believe in some kind of higher power, also need a sense of spiritual security, that they are doing the right things in the eyes of that Higher Power. Bush plays on this a lot with abortion, and controls a lot of people because of it. Its important therefore in pursuing goal two to not be afraid to link it to popular spiritual traditions. We should not rally against a leader who quotes Jesus Buddha or mohammed's teaching about serving the poor, we must reconize the need for spiritual security.
