And I'm not even a Democrat. (I do just happen to think that filibusters are pointless.)

This question was problematic (emphasis added):

Currently, 36 states have laws that allow residents to qualify for a permit to carry a firearm to protect themselves if they pass a background check, if they participate in firearms training and pay a fee to cover administrative costs.
Individuals in these US states may obtain permits to carry concealed firearms, for whatever purpose they might dream up.

There's no requirement that they demonstrate that their purpose is to protect themselves, or that they disclose what their purpose in fact is, to my knowledge.

Others more sensitive to nuances of USAmerican politics might spot similar push-poll kinda things in the questions, I suspect.
