34. I saw some large old deer the other day
in a patch of woods near my house. They looked very well fed and were quite gray around their faces. I'd followed a trail into an area that looked like it had been a camp for a homeless person in the warmer months.

I've also seen and heard a broad-winged hawk in the neighborhood and a few mallards at a nearby pond. Then there are the regulars to my yard: cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, robins, mockingbirds, carolina wrens, downy woodpeckers, juncos, blue jays, mourning doves, crows, starlings, and squirrels.

It's odd, though...I've not seen any titmice lately. I wonder if they were hit hard by West Nile?
